SILK PAINTING WITH ALLA MELMAN – NORTHSIDERS GROUP EVENT A most enjoyable Sunday afternoon, painting on silk and guided by the wonderful Alla Melman. Thank you Alla.

The PROGRESSIVE GROUP hosted the film “Broadway Musicals: A Jewish Legacy” on Monday morning 20 February. A two course lunch was served after the documentary. “A delicious lunch and fabulous film” was the general consensus of the 55 guests who attended.

Celebrating Israel 2016   We were very pleased to welcome so many guests to a Cultural Narrative to mark the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of Resolution 181, the Partition Plan, on 29 November 1947, calling for the establishment of a Jewish State alongside an Arab State thus leading to the establishment of the State of Israel. Guest speakers were Alan Hoffmann, CEO and Director General, The Jewish Agency, Jerusalem, and Dorit Herscovici, Spokesperson and Political Affairs, Embassy of Israel, Canberra. BIRTHING KIT PACKING DAY – On the morning of 18 August over 90 volunteers packed 1000 birthing kits. After we had packed the kits, producer/director REBECCA BARRY discussed her award winning documentary ‘I AM A GIRL’ before a special screening of this film.


NCJWA NSW 93rd AGM   In acknowledgement of the wonderful work of volunteers special awards were presented at the 93rd NCJWA NSW AGM held on June 20, with members, volunteers and leaders of a range of community organisations attending. Attorney General and Member for Vaucluse, Gabrielle Upton attended.
