Your People Will Be My People

At Shavuot we read the Book of Ruth, in which Ruth walks together with her mother in law and soul sister Naomi into shared peoplehood. There could not be a better pair of soul sisters to tell us their story on this occasion than First Nations Christian woman Nicole Laupepa and Jewish Jacqui Parker, whose ‘Walking Together’ workshops for Reconciliation aim to foster a new shared peoplehood for all Australians.

In a special Centenary partnership between NCJWA NSW and Or Chadash Synagogue on this Shabbat on which Shavuot and Sorry Day coincide, Nicole and Jacqui will speak to us over kiddush about their friendship, their work and the faith that guides each of them. Kiddush will begin about 11:45am – please feel free to join for any of the service as well: 9:15am start, 10am Womens Hallel, 10:20am Reading of the Book of Ruth, 11am Yizkor.Your-people-will-be-my-people
